Well, it’s been over a week since I posted about being sick, and I am still coughing a little and blowing my nose, and wow, what a cold!
But I got a fun creative assignment of designing another show flyer for the EtsySB team I am a part of, and that really perked me up.
It was a heck of a lot of fun to create!
Like the last flyer I created, I pulled the image from the Graphics Fairy:
I changed the hue a little bit to make things a bit more pink, and then I whitened up the fur on her jacket and hat to make it pop a bit.
The two round circles are this apothecary label, in varying sizes and opacities.
And the little white label displaying the date of the show, “December 13th,” came from a set of images from an old French chocolate label.
And I used a few different fonts in this design. I once heard that you should only use 2 different fonts in a design, and this flyer kind of violates that rule of thumb. But, it’s fun to break the rules sometimes! Here are a few of the font faces I used:
So, there you have it. I had fun sharing about and breaking down the last flyer I did, so I thought I would do it again.

Great work!

The flyer is awesome and I love how you break down your process! :) Lea
lea » Thanks Lea. I am gonna try to do more process posts with my artwork, too, since I love to see other people’s process posts. It’s so hard though – I finish whatever it is that I am going and think, “Doh! I forgot to take pictures!” The graphic work is a little easier because I can just post the pictures that I used. Glad you liked it!
